Maytown Foods, LLC is a woman- and minority-owned business founded by Shan Columbus in the Twin Cities, Minnesota, in June 2020. 

 

At Maytown Foods, we celebrate the connections that food creates across cultures and generations. Our passion for exceptional taste and nutrition drives our innovative approach to product development. Today, we proudly offer two gourmet chili oil sauces designed to elevate everyday meals: Jump Chili Classic and Jump Chili Cuisine. Both products are available online and at select retail locations throughout the Twin Cities.

Shan grew up in southwestern China, a region renowned for its rich culinary traditions and love of bold, spicy flavors. Her years of international business experience gave her the opportunity to explore diverse cuisines from around the world and deepen her appreciation for great food. After moving to the United States with her son, Andy, and a collection of more than 20 cookbooks, Shan remained committed to her dream of building a food business and sharing memorable flavors with others.

Drawing on generations of family cooking traditions and her own culinary expertise, Shan set out to create products that help busy people prepare delicious meals with ease. Whether you're short on time or just learning your way around the kitchen, Jump Chili makes it simple to add authentic flavor to everyday dishes.

The inspiration behind the brand name comes from a cherished childhood memory. Whenever young Shan ate something especially spicy, her grandmother would laugh and say, “Shan, jump! Jump! You'll feel better!” Remembering those joyful moments filled Shan with warmth and nostalgia. Inspired by those memories—and by the vibrant spirit of the flavors she loved—she named her sauces Jump Chili.
